The primary focus of the Special Account Representative (SAR) position is to maximize revenue potential in the assigned sales region by improving the level of coverage and service to the customer. The SAR role is the pre-curser position to a Field Sales Representative position. The SAR travels to customer locations independently or with a Sales Representative as directed by the Regional Sales Manager. Duties include making appointments, presentations, cold calling and closing sales. The SAR position allows the employee to gain the outside sales experience and product knowledge needed to move into an assigned territory while being held accountable for a smaller monthly quota.. Both the SAR and Field Sales Representative work out of their home office.
ASSIGNED TERRITORY:
Salt Lake City, Utah (and surrounding 50-mile radius)
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
Assist with customer calls and customer training
Contact existing and new customers to announce new products and schedule appointments
Provide ongoing support at special events and conferences within the sales region
Travel to customer locations and meet with customers as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
Minimum 3 years direct client contact in either inside or outside sales
4 year college degree or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of formal sales concepts, methods and techniques
Ambitious self-starter with high energy, motivation and drive to achieve
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Effective time management skills
Able to work form home office and travel to customer locations
Proficient in MS Office/internet
Working knowledge of West products, the legal profession and/or legal publishing industry is highly preferred
Law degree preferred
