SENIOR SYSTEMS SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Software development of IP based communications equipment including EMTA, Cable Modem and Residential Gateway products. Also may act as a project manager to coordinate the efforts of others to make sure that software releases are delivered on time with good quality. Defines detailed product feature requirements, develops software, participates in code reviews, creates software test plans and works in a lab environment to debug and solve issues. Coordinates with other groups including test teams, system engineering teams and business teams.

Required Experience:

14+ years of industry experience

3+ years experience w/Software development experience in C or C++ for real time IP communications products

3+ years relevant work experience and knowledge of IP communications protocol

Preferred Experience:

Lead software developer experience developing commercial products.

Knowledge and experience solving IP Networking issues with extensive IP protocol analysis and debug skills

Knowledge and experience with VoIP system components and legacy PSTN telephony interfaces

Creation of product requirements documents and test plans

Expert knowledge of PacketCable VoIP specifications

Expert knowledge of DOCSIS specifications and protocols

Experience with 802.11 wireless protocols and residential gateway features and protocols

Project management skills

Required Education:

4 year technical degree

MSEE, MSCS or MSCE preferred
