Courier Westford, a subsidiary of Courier Corporation, the third largest book manufacturer in the U.
S., has an immediate opening for experienced General Bindery Operators on all shifts.
The General Bindery Operator may be responsible for performing any of the following jobs: Binder Operator, Trimmer Operator, Gatherer Operator, Casing-In Operator, Case Maker Operator, Stamper Operator.
Specific responsibilities will include: Set up, operate, direct crew and maintain various binding and casebinding equipment on an as needed basis.
Review job ticket for pertinent information to make ready, set up and run job. Perform make ready by setting up equipment based on job specifications and direct crew in make ready procedures.
Operate equipment to achieve or exceed production and quality standards.
Perform preventive maintenance.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area on a daily basis.
Complete required paperwork as required.
Experience/Education: Experience with bindery operations and bindery equipment is necessary.
Ability to read and understand written instructions including those dealing with dimensions and quality and to apply written instructions to machine set-up is required.
Position requires High School diploma or GED and strong math and measurement skills ability to add/subtract fractions and read a ruler.
