PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Greet and interview incoming patients and their representatives and obtain patients’ demographic and insurance information in compliance with medical and fiscal needs and current guidelines.

Enter data obtained into the MediTech computer system.

Pre-register scheduled patients (via phone or demo-recall), obtaining accurate patient demographic and insurance information.

Run, prepare, and distribute daily schedules to multiple areas.

Maintain confidentiality of patient information, exercising sound judgement and sensitivity in dealing with patients and their families.

2. Present and review generic insurance and treatment consent forms to/with patients.

Obtain all necessary signatures.

Generate appropriate Hospital plates and bands (when applicable).

3. Perform cashier as well as petty cash functions where applicable.

Trouble shoot billing issues with patient where needed.

Collect co-pays and billing balances where applicable.

Provide daily cash-out and balance routines.

Maintain daily and monthly files of cash collection transactions.

4. Ensure that all OPD accounts are accurate for billing by reviewing the previous day’s registration/billing slips for accurate demographic/insurance information, obtaining and/or correcting accounts where needed for both the main and off-site registration areas.

5. Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of registration, such as covering the reception desk as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. High School diploma, GED., or equivalent experience.

2. Data entry, medical terminology, and insurance knowledge.

3. Fluency in English.

Other languages would be an advantage.
