TAP is the place you want to be.TAP is an Equal Opportunity EmployerThe Business Development Department is responsible for identifying and acquiring all new technologies and products for TAP that will sustain and grow the company. Unlike other companies that have an internal research/discovery organization, TAP relies 100% on licensing to source products for its development pipeline. The Business Development Executive is responsible for enhancing TAP’s product portfolio for each of TAP’s Therapeutic Franchises by identifying new leads, completing commercial assessments and assisting in executing deals. This person is empowered to terminate or advance opportunities in collaboration with internal partners and make recommendations to Senior Management.Specific responsibilities include:Developing the product pipeline for one of TAP’s Therapeutic Franchises including but not limited to: Urology, Gynecology or Gastroenterology.Lead a matrix of TAP departments to gain internal consensus on negotiated terms and agreements, including Scientific Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Therapeutic Head, Marketing and Sales, and Manufacturing Technology. Keep TAP Senior Management aware of developments and maintain buy-in throughout the partnering process.Accountable for the sales and profit forecasts for all in-licensed products to ensure that the investment made by TAP results in a commensurate financial return once products are commercialized.Quantify the value of potential licensing opportunities for TAP, and make specific actionable recommendations to TAP’s senior management on licensing opportunities.Assist with negotiation of terms and conditions, and definitive agreements, on TAP’s behalf with senior executives of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide.Develop, maintain and expand a network of contacts with licensing and business development executives on a worldwide basis with specific emphasis in Europe, Japan and the US.Qualifications:Bachelors Degree is required.MS/MBA/JD/PhD/PharmD is desired.A minimum of 7 years of health-care (pharmaceutical) or other relevant business experience or equivalent. Progressive experience should include at least 4 years of prior experience in business development, licensing, law, life sciences, product marketing, finance or marketing research.Demonstrated broad practical experience in complementary healthcare disciplines such as marketing, sales, manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, finance, contract and patent law is highly desired. This individual should also possess well-developed leadership, interpersonal, communication, analytical, financial and problem solving skills.
