Job Description

Kitchell CEM is currently seeking a Structural Engineer for its Northern California operations. This position encompasses a wide variety of functions including design and constructability review and value engineering in the specialty area of structural or civil as appropriate. Develop seismic analysis and structural evaluation of steel and reinforced concrete structures. Perform technical review and analysis of structural designs and construction. Perform value-engineering review. Confirm that design appears fundamentally sound and address applicable codes. Review constructability of design. Must also assist estimating as required in developing estimates. Additional requirements include exceptional writing, verbal and presentation skills, AutoCAD proficiency and the ability to function effectively without close supervision. Prefer BS or BA in civil or structural engineering. Must have PE license from the State of California. EOE. To be considered, you must have at least four years’ experience with employee benefits in broker/agency environment, consulting firm or insurance carrier. Qualifications also include:

Familiar with HIPAA, COBRA, and other employee benefit laws

Experience supporting both self-funded and fully-insured groups

Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Strong analytical, organizational and auditing skills

Able to multi-task and prioritize

Excellent communications skills for client and internal communications

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) and/or Request for Information (RFI) for new and existing clients

Conduct and coordinate open enrollment meeting for client groups

Coordinate carrier/market presentations and meeting schedule

Work on specific and/or assigned client projects as needed
