Provides metallurgical support for other company organizations including Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality in the areas of materials non-conformances, RFQ review, failure analysis, material and trim selection, and vendor development.

Interfaces with customers on all materials related issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develops and maintains material specifications to the latest Engineering and standard requirements.

Develops and maintains X-documents for materials related special processes.

This may also require testing to validate the process and setting up a qualification file.

Develop and maintain A-documents for coatings.

Analyze coating and materials related failures.

Research and develop new materials and coatings.

Provide laboratory services for evaluating materials and coating.

Develop new vendors for materials and special processes.

Perform technical audits of these vendors.

Review and commenting on customer inquiries or RFQ’s.

Evaluate and recommend dispositions of non-conformances.
