We are currently seeking a Solution Architect to join us in our Montvale office.
Responsibilities: • Provide technical insight, system design, and packaged implementation guidance within the Enterprise Architecture group • Evaluate software trends, provide recommendations for the various technologies required by Information Technology Services (ITS), and design solutions to meet our business objectives • Assess business objectives and design solutions by drawing from the architecture domains: application architecture, information architecture, infrastructure architecture, etc. • Evaluate business requirements in the early stages of projects to determine what software, integration technologies, system architectures, and patterns should be employed to meet business objectives efficiently • Work with technical leads and project teams to help ensure that implementations of our designs are successful • Perform hands-on installation and analysis of third party packages in a lab environment to evaluate software efficacy and formulate deployment guidance given our technology standards • Perform research on emerging technologies; research focused on identifying application oriented technology solutions which will benefit the firm by balancing the tradeoffs between architectural goals; research activities include readings, proof-of-concept (POC) application/data components, lab testing, and various training opportunities • Give presentations, work with project teams, and author content aimed at educating others about our standards, strategies, and otherwise defined leading practices Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in Computer Science from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience with an advanced degree preferred • Eight years of experience in managing projects, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience • Knowledge of various components of Enterprise Architecture, business process re-engineering principles and processes • Understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems • Ability to understand the long and short-term perspectives of situations • Strong ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements and ability to estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives • Strong ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems and quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation • Strong understanding of development and database technologies including Visual Studio, .
NET, and SQL Server • Skilled in various technical aspects of the development process including design, coding, testing, and deployment • Understanding of infrastructure software including Active Directory, LDAP, email gateways, network protocol analyzers, operating systems, load balancing technologies, and virtualization technologies preferred • Understanding of identity management systems, workflow, search, document management, business intelligence, enterprise search preferred • Understanding of application software including SharePoint, Interwoven, Metastorm, Business Objects, SSRS, SSAS preferred • Understanding of security concepts such as PKI, encryption, authorization, authentication, federated identity, Kerberos, and digital signatures preferred KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
